Healthcare Closer to Home

Description: Ontario pharmacists are providing an ever-increasing range of health care services that help people in the community receive quality, timely health care more conveniently. For example, in addition to the free influenza shots that pharmacists can now provide, they will soon also be authorized to deliver pre-travel inoculations. To highlight these services, Jessica Behnke of the Neighbourhood Pharmacy Association of Canada (NPAC) and Walmart Pharmacy Manager James invited Burlington MPP Eleanor McMahon to visit the Fairview Street Walmart Pharmacy. The April 24 event was part of the NPAC's Health Care Closer to Home initiative, a program that aims to educate consumers and others about the expanding range of services that Ontario pharmacists are now able to provide.
